Expect a more varied outing than pitch-and-putt: the published course guide includes par 3s, par 4s and a par 5, with slopes and hazards to think about. Pick this for scenery and a proper golf day. Budget more time than a short nine.

For the friends who hear “golf” and immediately remember another appointment. Pittwater’s pirate-themed mini golf is a different sort of short game: two 18-hole putt-putt courses, a café and plenty of opportunities to celebrate a very small putt.

This is mini golf, not a par-3 course. Choose it when a putting-only outing suits your crew better than full swings. The centre also has a driving range if you’d like to add a bucket of balls to the plan.

A par-3 hole is designed to take three strokes: one to reach the green, then two putts. Reality occasionally submits a different proposal.
A par-3 course is made up of these shorter holes. It’s real golf: you’ll still chip, pitch, read a green and occasionally negotiate with a tree. Mini golf is putting-only play on purpose-built obstacles. Both count as a good time; they’re different outings.
For a first proper round, a short course can make the game feel more approachable. Let faster groups through, repair pitch marks and wait until the group ahead is safely clear before hitting. Looking after the course is always on brand.

Where can I play par-3 golf in Sydney?
This guide features Shortees Golf in Terrey Hills, an 18-hole par-3 venue, and Cammeray Golf Club in Cremorne, a public nine-hole par-3 course. Northbridge is a mixed-par alternative; Pittwater is a mini-golf alternative.
Can I play after work?
Shortees offers floodlit evening golf. Check its current last tee-off time and course-closure notices before heading out. Don’t assume other courses offer night play.
Do I need my own clubs?
Shortees advertises club hire. For other venues, confirm availability when booking. A par-3 round usually calls for a putter and shorter clubs, but the hole lengths and your own distances decide what goes in the bag.
How much does a round cost?
